G & M Loft Conversions: Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Is my loft high enough to have a loft conversion?
As a general rule your loft needs to be a minimum of 2.2M measured from the points shown (click for diagram), however, at G & M our expert design & build team may be able to find a solution even if your loft is slightly less than this.
  • Do I need planning permission?
As a general rule planning permission is not normally required, if however, your property does need planning permission, our expert design & build team will advise. Building regulations are always necessary.
  • Who organises planning permission/building regulation approval?
We will do all the necessary paperwork for you.
  • Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, absolutely, we guarantee all of our work.
  • What about health & safety?
We have a current health & safety policy in place which can be viewed if required.
  • What about insurance?
We are fully insured and our policies can be viewed if required.
  • Will a loft conversion add value to my house?
Most definitely especially if designed by experts such as G & M as we believe the loft should be an extension of the existing dwelling.
  • Can we go and see some of your previous work?
Yes, of course, we recommend you do.
