Creating Your Own Sports Room

With a bit of creativity, you can convert an extra or unused room into an interesting abode. An example would be converting such room into a sports room. This is a great project for sports enthusiasts.

Start by cleaning and removing everything from the room. Picture in your mind your future sports room, and draw a floor plan based on how you want the whole area to look like. After that, have the room painted with your favourite team colour. Bright colours are preferred, but if your team has dark colours, it would be best to use them for room borders. Another great idea is to hire a professional to paint a mural of an outdoor sports scene or the interior of a stadium.

Next, focus on the floor. A good idea is to portray a game court's floor. For example, if you are a basketball fan, paint section markings that depict an actual basketball court. If you are a football fan, choose a green floor and paint the lines and markings of a football field. After this, it is now time to move in your furniture. If the room is fairly big, you can place indoor game furnishings like a pool table, air hockey table, and the like. You also need to add seating and a centre table. If you have a small bar in there, you can add bar stools. Of course, do not forget your big-screen TV and a great sound system.

Lastly, add items such as framed posters, autographed items, ticket stubs, bobble-head dolls, pictures, and other sports memorabilia and accessories. It would be a good idea to place them in shelves for neat organisation. Placing pennants, sports cards, and bumper stickers on the walls are also good suggestions.
